About the Artwork
It is not the first time that I painted this little yellow house at the end of the Monaco peninsula, Nelson, New Zealand. I finished the painting plein air right at the scene, or at least so I thought. But when I looked at it in the studio it showed a cloudy day with subdued colours, which wasn’t very exiting. I started to re-work it and it became a night scene. Painted in oil with the palette knife.
