Kina Inlet (Moutere Inlet)

This painting shows the view of the Takaka hills from Tasman, a little village in Upper Moutere, New Zealand. The proper name for the inlet is Moutere Inlet, however for the artist it represents the area around the Kina Peninsula, which is where Nicole enjoys going for a walk with her dog. This painting was painted with the palette knife and shows the heavy application of oil paint. The painting started en plein air and was later refined in the studio.
