Pigeon House at Isel Park

This painting was accomplished using the palette knife. I painted it at Isel Park, Stoke, Nelson (New Zealand).

Most of my little 6” x 8” paintings are done en plein air (painted outside). During the warmer season I like to go out to different locations and paint a little gem on the spot. Outside I usually paint in oil using the palette knife. The little paintings created this way are always special to me. Not only do they show a certain landscape but they also include the memory of how the wind was blowing, the birds were singing and other special things that happened while I was painting.
