Plein Air Painting, 8th February 2023, Paddy’s Knob, Nelson

Meet us for plein air painting on 8th February 2023, 10am, at Paddy’s Knob, Nelson. Paddy’s Knob offers an aerial view over the Nelson Bay, however it doesn’t offer any toilets or shelter. Please remember your sunhat!

Directions: In Tahunanui enter Tosswill Road and drive up the hill until you get to Stansell Ave. Paddy’s Knob will come up on your left. A map with more detailed directions is attached. Note that access via The Sand is still closed to the public.

Please bring your painting supplies, a chair, bug spray, sun screen, morning tea/lunch and good weather. I hope the weather is better than last Wednesday.

Plein air painting is scheduled for every Wednesday morning, except the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Please note, we won’t meet if the weather is not accomodating (rain or strong winds).

Let me know if you have any suggestions on where to go for plein air painting. Paddy’s Knob was one of the suggestions. Next I have, Haulashore Island, Anchor Bar & Grill, the Kumeras, and Java Hut/Mapua.

For regular updates on plein air painting contact [email protected].

My apologies, I will not be able to join you this week. It’s the day I’m preparing the opening at the Nelson Suter Art Society’s McKee Gallery. You are warmly invited to celebrate with us from 5:30-7pm, 208 Bridge Street, Nelson.
