Painting Trees in the Landscape
1-Day Workshop – All Mediums are welcome!
Date: Saturday 23rd August – 9:30am – 3:30pm
Location: Bridge Rooms, 32 Tudor Street, Motueka
Tutor: Nicole Russell
Cost: $60 Motueka Art Group members, $70 non members
During this 1-Day workshop you will explore the structure, tonal value and colour of trees. We will also talk about the importance of trees in a landscape to create depth. At the end of the day you will have accomplished several exercises and a final painting.
For your final work you can bring a photo of your favourite subject. You are also welcome to bring some previous works for feedback and help.
All mediums are welcome! Oils, watercolours, acrylics, etc.
Materials:
Please bring
- your typical painting supplies (any medium)
- some photos of trees,
- paper, pencil and eraser for some quick pencil sketches
- Additional canvas or paper for a few exercises and paintings
- a rigger brush for painting branches (don’t worry if you don’t have one). Rigger brushes are available in different thicknesses. It is better to have a rather thin rigger brush. Any size from 0 – 4 will do.
Taking registrations now – places limited so please book by the 9th August. $10 deposit on booking, balance to be paid week before the workshop.
