Plein Air Painting, 11th February 2026, Haulashore Island, Nelson (Ferry fee $35, RSVP by 9th February, please!)

Meet us for plein air painting on Wednesday, 11th February 2026, 9:30am(!), at the Ferry, 272 Wakefield Quay, Nelson, seaside of Styx Restaurant. The ferry will take us to the Haulashore Island where we can paint until 12pm (pick up time). We will go aboard at 9:50am or as soon as everybody has arrived.

Fee:

$35 per person return trip and payable directly to the captain.
Eftpos or cash, no change will be given.
Gold Card holders receive a 10% discount.

Booking is essential to take part. Please send me an email by Monday 9th February 2026 if you like to sign up. The ferry can take up to 19 passengers.

In case the weather is not agreeable the trip will be postponed to the following week.

There are no facilities available on the island. A public toilet is behind the Styx Restaurant. 

Please bring your painting supplies, a chair, bug spray, sun screen, morning tea and good weather.

Lunch: we can meet for lunch at the Styx Restaurant.

Plein air painting is scheduled for every Wednesday morning, except the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Please note, we won’t meet if the weather is not accomodating (rain or strong winds).
