Nelson Port and Boulder Bank

This painting shows the view from Atawhai, Nelson, over the Nelson Port towards the Boulder Bank. The buildings at the Nelson Port are shown in an old fashion manner with the typical reddish New Zealand roofs. Today the port looks more industrial than it is depicted in this painting. Java Hut is this funky little coffee shop in Mapua. The coffee is delicious and there is always a friendly face and a lovely chat.
