Meet us for plein air painting on 22nd March 2023, 10am, at the end of Staples Street, Motueka. The area is also known as “the Kumeras” for the fields you drive pass used to be Kumera fields (now cattle). Directions: coming from Richmond drive through Motueka. Nelson Lighthouse and Naked Ladies

About a year ago, in February 2022 the plein air painting group did a tour to the Nelson Lighthouse. The ferry “Waka-to-n-fro” took us to the Boulder Bank, which is the location of the lighthouse and can be described as a desolate collection of rocky substrate. After an unsteady walk up the bank on river rocks and gravel we were surprised to find all those Naked Ladies (Amaryllis Belladonna) growing around the lighthouse.
