Meet us for plein air painting on 1st June 2022, 10am, Founders Heritage Park, 87 Atawhai Drive, Nelson. Founders Park offers historic homes, a windmill, church, cars, buses, airplane and hopefully coffee if the cafe is open…  Please bring your painting supplies, a chair, bug spray, sun screen, morning tea/lunch and good weather. Officially this is the last plein air painting for the season. The weather is now getting more and more unpredictable which we experienced clearly at our last session…

Gosh, the wind was unbelievable, brisk and chilly. One easel went flying the other one was stabilised with a lot of weight. Hard core plein air painting, that's what it was. Still, the sun was shining. We were challenged but happy.

Meet us for plein air painting on 25th May 2022, 10am, at Grossi Point, Mapua. Drive towards the Mapua Wharf and turn right at Tahi Road (last right turn before you arrive at the wharf). Grossi Point is at the end of the road by the boat ramp. Plein air painting was a bit different this time. We were at Ruby's Espresso on Akersten Street, Nelson, which had a lot of guests coming and going, ordering drinks and food, sitting down, chatting, reading, etc. Talk about a busy place. Some of the guests came up to us to check out what we were doing, some were quite inspired and may join us next time. It was lovely to have a little chat. I painted at group of people…

Another lovely day of Plein Air Painting, this time at Gravity Winery, Mahana. Not only did we enjoy a great time on the lawn in front of the restaurant, but also some delicious coffee to keep us painting.

Meet us for plein air painting on 11th May 2022, 10am, at Ruby’s Coffee Cart, Akersten Street, Nelson. Driving down Akersten Street towards the marina Ruby’s coffee cart will come up on your left hand side. Toilets are in walking distance. It was another magical day for plein air painting. This time we enjoyed a beautiful day at Silvan, a private property in Richmond. Have a look at the photos.

Meet us for plein air painting on 4th May 2022, 10am, at Gravity Winery, 243 Old Coach Road. Gravity Winery offers views over the vineyard and the Nelson Bay towards the Richmond hills. Currently the colours of the vineyards are changing to a stunning yellow which are offset by the blue ocean in the background. Hopefully it will still be that beautiful by Wednesday. Meet us for plein air painting on 27th April , 10am, at Silvan, 205 Champion Road, Richmond. Silvan is a beautiful private property with a lake amongst forest trees. The leaves are changing colour and the lake is always a lovely subject to paint, no matter what season it is.  Directions: Please park your car in the parking area by the shed.
